Gardenwood is a hidden gem! I love the rustic cabins and old school up north feel. And the staff is friendly and down to earth, which is right up my alley. Gardenwood is a great getaway, not a tourist trap. We had plenty of privacy and the option to join the other guests at the common campfire in the evenings, which was a lot of fun. I can't wait to visit again!
We have been coming here for a long time and this was to be our final time if some improvements weren't done! What a great surprise to find new owners that were fixing and improving the cabins! We had 2 wonderful cabins (9 & 10) and very friendly owners that have put a lot of hard work into making everything great! Thanks for the great weekend. We can't wait to see you next year!

Our stay at the Gardenwood resort, Cabin #6 was a wonderful experience. Pam and Lee are exceptional host. They went way beyond our expectations. They are always there when you needed them and would go out of their way to make your stay the most enjoyable. If you are into cabin type atmosphere this is the place for you. You have the view of Lake Superior all across the front area, the cabins all surrounded by trees, and they even have a fire pit for you to gather at night to socialize while listening to someone sing and play the guitar while roasting your favorite campfire treat, smores. To be honest when booking a place to stay the hotels in Duluth, Superior, and Two Harbors where sold out. Cathy and I decided on Gardenwood because it just looked like a great place to experience Minnesota and Grandma’s Marathon. After our stay we were driving back into Duluth, Cathy and I both agreed that we had met a great family. I know because of the friendship we acquired will staying at the Gardenwood will last a lifetime. If it can be done and it is the plan, we will see you next year. Thanks for all you did to make our stay in Duluth a most memorable one.

"Thank you for such a wonderful place for nearly 20 members of my extended family to get together. We used up 5 of your cabins for the weekend and we all loved staying there. The young kids had fun playing on the playground, and it was a great spot for some of us to go up the coast and others to sight-see in Duluth. GREAT location. Lee was so hospitable, checking to see if anyone needed anything all weekend. My husband and kids staying in cabin 2, which had a nice huge bed and kitchenette and was perfect for our family of 4. Again - thanks for helping to make this weekend a success. I would recommend this resort to anyone."

"I just wanted to thank you again for a wonderful stay at Gardenwood since we did not see you the day we left. The cabin was perfect (you really thought of everything!) and it was the perfect launching place for 3 days of great sightseeing. We've stayed in many of these kinds of cabins and, as silly as this may sound, we were particularly delighted with how comfortable the bed was - they often come with very firm mattresses and you toss and turn. The bed in our cabin was so comfortable. We slept great and after a long day of hiking, we actually talked about how much we looked forward to lying down!!! We would love to plan a return trip and if not this year, certainly next. Thanks again."
