Gardenwood Resort is one block from the start of the Half Marathon. The Resort is on Scenic North Shore Drive and adjacent to the Safe Harbor on McQuade Road, making Gardenwood Resort the perfect accommodations for the weekend. We are along the race route, but have easy access to McQuade Road allowing access to roads that are open during the race. Many family and friends will cheer their racers on from the resort and then after the racer passes the resort, drive to the finish to support the racer at the finish line. Saturday evening we have a big bonfire and listen to tales from the course.
See our photos from previous celebrations. We would love to have you stay at Gardenwood Resort on race day.

Testimonies from Gardenwood guests:

We just wanted to say thank-you for making our weekend so awesome! We had a great time hanging out around the campfire and making new friends. Plus the support you gave us marathon runners was awesome. Vacationing with all of you seriously felt like hanging out with family. We'll definitely be back!!!

Our stay at the Gardenwood resort, Cabin #6 was a wonderful experience. Pam and Lee are exceptional host. They went way beyond our expectations. They are always there when you needed them and would go out of their way to make your stay the most enjoyable. If you are into cabin type atmosphere this is the place for you. You have the view of Lake Superior all across the front area, the cabins all surrounded by trees, and they even have a fire pit for you to gather at night to socialize while listening to someone sing and play the guitar while roasting your favorite campfire treat, smores. To be honest when booking a place to stay the hotels in Duluth, Superior, and Two Harbors where sold out. Cathy and I decided on Gardenwood because it just looked like a great place to experience Minnesota and Grandma’s Marathon. After our stay we were driving back into Duluth, Cathy and I both agreed that we had met a great family. I know because of the friendship we acquired will staying at the Gardenwood will last a lifetime. If it can be done and it is the plan, we will see you next year. Thanks for all you did to make our stay in Duluth a most memorable one.
